Some time ago I started making small art quilts which are mounted on stretch canvas frames. The trend recently seems to be to have the artwork sitting on a shelf leaning against the wall rather than putting more and more nails in the walls. Really a fun way to display your art and very easy to change around as your mood changes. ‘Bird on Animal’ is made with batik scraps with hand embroidery added for texture. The colors are harmonious and fun. I think something like this would make a lovely gift for a person who appreciates colors, design and abstract art in general.
