The Prow of the Ship began as a chalk pastel drawing of a flower garden at Botanica. I took detail photographs, close up photographs of the pastel drawing, manipulated the triangular shapes, printed the image, then further developed the artwork by painting in the water rushing around the prow, adding depth to the water with paint, enlivening the prow with more layers of chalk pastel.
