Protective Circles
This work extends the spirit of ancestral quilt-making into new forms of protection. Using cords wrapped in fiber, stitched fabric, and padded circles, I create a surface that evokes both shield and covering. The raised forms suggest resilience, while the interwoven connections honor the ways our ancestors safeguarded one another with what they had at hand. Protective Circles is both barrier and embrace—a reminder of the strength found in unity and the enduring legacy of care.
