This work emerges from a journey to Canyon de Chelly, where I found myself translating the experience of that sacred landscape into pattern and color. Through block printing techniques, I’ve layered surfaces to create a rhythmic interplay between earth and sky. My palette of deep blues, purple, turquoise, and brick red draws directly from the canyon’s natural chromatics: the vast Southwestern sky, weathered sandstone walls, and symbols that recorded stories across centuries. Patterned blocks suggest geometric forms found in Diné and Persian traditions, an intersection of my past and present, both rooted in desert landscapes.
