“She sat beside her” was shown at the New Museum Los Gatos during the fall of 2024. It is the sister piece to “She sat in the circle,” which debuted in Santa Fe.
Both works are deep studies in connection, with the shapes representing the individuals who shape our lives, the bonds we form, and the strength we draw from one another over time. The blocks stand distinct from each other, exploring the interplay between individuality and togetherness. In reorienting these forms, I wanted to emphasize the essential strength of community.
