Gaylotta Murray, a digital artist whose work radiates with vibrant interplay of colors, shapes, and layers, was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her artistic journey is a testament to lifelong learning and late blooming creativity, commencing formally in her late sixties. Growing up on the west side of Detroit. This early foray into design kindled a passion for coordinating patterns, colors, and styles—elements that would become the bedrock of her future artistic endeavors.
Gaylotta's artistic lineage traces back to her grandfather, a self-taught photographer whose knack for capturing moments perhaps seeped into her own creative DNA. However, Gaylotta’s formal artistic training is a result of her own industrious pursuit of knowledge through a variety of learning platforms as well as the grace of the art community. Her technical tools are mainly Procreate and Adobe Fresco.
Her creative process is a delicate dance between spontaneity and intention. A blank digital canvas becomes a playground where digital technology creates artwork in a similar fashion to traditional art. Her technique coupled with her passion for color make her art an expressive tapestry that celebrates the power of color and form.

Statement
As a digital abstract artist, I utilize Procreate and Fresco, as well as hand painted canvases to create my vibrant artworks. This provide me with a wide range of brushes, textures, and painting mediums, allowing for a rich mixed media experience. I particularly enjoy the extensive color palettes available, which enable me to express my passion for bold, dynamic colors.
The digital medium grants me the freedom to experiment with layering and blending techniques. This capability enhances the intensity of my forms and patterns, resulting in unique visual experiences. Each piece reflects my love for color and the joy of artistic exploration. Through these methods, I strive to evoke emotion and invite viewers into my colorful world.
