This kiln formed glass panel was inspired by the beauty and mystery of watching a blue heron fish in the fog of early dawn. It speaks to a longing to connect and for a moment share their world. The work was made in layers of kiln formed glass built up with multiple trips through the kiln. The swirling lines were created by drawing in the air with hot glass as it streamed from the bottom of my vitrograph kiln.
Additional imagery was built with layers of glass enamel on a mica-infused iridized glass surface that mimics the atmosphere of fog.
