This is a deeply personal creation that feels like a reflection of my own journey - one of rebirth, healing, and emerging from the depths of the dark night of the soul.
When I painted it, I wasn’t entirely sure what was trying to express itself, but as I sat with it, the meaning became clear. The face, softly emerging from the deep indigo and violet hues, felt like a moment of surrender - a quiet unfolding after the storm.
The golden cracks running through the painting reminded me of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, where the breaks become part of the beauty rather than something to hide.
It speaks to the idea that our scars, our healing, and the challenges we move through only make us more whole, more radiant. This piece feels like a mirror of that transformational energy - coming through the darkness, not defeated but illuminated.
It is painted on a hexagonal stretched canvas which is approximately 20" in diameter
