I am a self-taught artist whose love of all things nature and appreciation of my surroundings has translated into the subject matter for my talents. Drawing horses as a young girl, and learning to “see” more of what was in front of me in high school was where my passion for art began. I was accepted into the art program at East Carolina University, but left before graduation to raise a family.
My works have been juried into numerous national competitions, including Southeast Spectrum; Animals in Art; Arts for the Parks (Top 200 5 times); Degas Pastel Society; MPSGS Miniature Show; Art of the Miniature; Mondak Miniature Show; Miniature Art Society of Florida; Spanish Moss Miniature Art Show; Ducks Unlimited; Paint America, and many local shows. There have been several local solo shows, including the Raleigh Womens Club , NC Museum of Art’s “Art of the Auction”, and the NC Museum of Natural Science among others. I have produced a series of prints for the Florida Libraries for 25 years, and for the Library Associations of North Carolina and Georgia for many years, and illustrated 2 children’s books.
