"Wanderlust" is a painting of hope and new beginnings for anyone who is struggling. In 2014, I passed out and had a bad fall. I landed on my left cheek and the impact caused some cognitive problems in the right side of my brain. My spacial awareness was very off and I had trouble judging where I was and frequently ran into the door frames and hit my head when I got in the car. I fell a lot. I had trouble figuring out visual problems. Not good news for an artist. My neurologist told me that the best therapy for me was to keep painting. I worked on "Wanderlust" for two years. It had many disappointing incarnations that are invisible now. When it was finished it seemed to be about a familiar place by the sea in some faraway land I'd never visited.Several years ago I had my DNA tested and found out my origins are England, Ireland, Scotland and Northwestern Europe. Maybe I can go there someday and find this spot beside the sea. This original is too close to my heart to be for sale.
