Transitions

A small grouping of encaustic & mixed media art works using bold colors as the backdrop for unusual landscapes. Typical of many of my sculptural works, I use common subjects (fruits, vegetables, plants, insects…) combined with other elements in non-realistic ways; they are further disrupted by various levels of magnification. Enlarged microscopic organisms (here, diatoms) co-exist as part of ‘landscape’ components: trees, celestial bodies (stars, planets), dismantling the mainstream ‘human’ perspective. The inclusion of symbolic structures (doors) exist as elements to assist a shift into a different version of reality. Not surreal, nor fantastical, all co-existing elements pull us into a different subjective space; as a whole they speak our soul’s longings… to expand and move into a perspective of equanimity, resulting from internal transitions.

Cryptographics

The root word ‘Crypt’ originates from Greece, an adjective meaning hidden, secret. Here, I reference ancient symbolic visual language from a range of cultures, illuminating their spiritual significance. Some are abstract (geometric shapes, symmetrical flowers), others are fragments of creatures/plants we are familiar with (Peacock Feathers, leaf) and others are whole creatures (butterflies, dragonfly). Their presence prompts your inner knowing to recognize the energies we are submerged within; they remind you to expand your perception and recognize the signs along your path, encouraging you to evolve. We are living in a time of Fear, Competition – Low frequencies that keep us trapped. This imagery is beckoning you to transform your consciousness through the power of Forgiveness, moving from fear to love.
