A New Moon occurs when the Earth, Moon and Sun line up in the heavens, with the moon between the earth and sun. When exact, it is a solar eclipse; energetically, an eclipse is a time of letting go, releasing, thus making space for new energies/experiences/perceptions. At the center of an 8-petaled lotus within a star-studded sky, is an eclipse – a central dot often used in a meditation mandala. The pattern is repeated outside the central square panel; a glowing halo around dark blue energies. From the corners emerge flowering peacock feathers, a symbol of protection, guidance, good fortune and insight. The emerald green is a heart chakra color, a suggestion to release all that binds one’s heart’s natural goodness and capacity to express unconditional love.
