As an artist, I am inspired by the beauty and vibrancy of the world around me. My love for bright colours is evident in my work, as I strive to capture the intensity and energy of the landscapes and the cityscapes that I paint. I am drawn to loose, expressive brushstrokes that convey the essence of a scene without being overly realistic. Whether painting a vast prairie, a shimmering lake, or the urban architecture of Winnipeg, I am always looking for ways to play with light and colour, exploring the interplay between natural and man-made environments.

Growing up in the Prairies of Manitoba, I have always been captivated by the vastness and drama of our skies. Storm clouds brewing in the distance, fields of bright canola, and endless horizons are part of my visual vocabulary. As I’ve explored Winnipeg, I’ve come to appreciate the city’s unique landmarks and iconic sites, integrating them into my work to reflect its energy and character.

In my paintings, I often focus on the reflection of light on water and snow, and the way it creates a sense of hazy brightness and warmth. I seek to capture not only the visual aspects of a scene but also the emotional and sensory experience of being there. Through my work, I hope to convey a sense of joy and wonder at the world around us and to invite viewers to see the familiar with fresh eyes.

I am currently a member of the Manitoba Society of the Arts and the Federation of Canadian artists. I am represented by Pulse Gallery at the Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and recently completed a 3-month Artist in Residency program at The Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg.
