Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and a Master's degree in Public Administration. Following early experience in private practice, he devoted thirty years to public service as a planning administrator for a major natural area park agency — work that deepened his understanding of ecological stewardship, conservation, and the enduring value of protected landscapes.
That career, combined with a lifelong passion for travel, art, and photography, gave rise to a sustained effort to document the natural world in all its diversity. These images are the result of that journey — an invitation to see, appreciate, and reflect on the remarkable environments that surround us, and that depend on our care to survive.
Statement
This portfolio brings together a body of work spanning over 50 years of landscape architecture, fine art, and photography — united by a commitment to the natural world. Over several decades of practice, I have designed environments that prioritize ecological integrity and long-term sustainability, working to ensure that the landscapes we inhabit remain vital for generations to come.
The images gathered here reflect that same ethos: an attempt to document, with care and precision, the extraordinary diversity of ecosystems that shape our planet. They are, of course, only a glimpse — the world's richness far exceeds what any collection can hold. I hope they offer both a moment of appreciation and a reminder of what is worth preserving.
