What happens when an artist awakens to a world that feels slightly—but profoundly—altered? Familiar names, dates, and even iconic lines from books and films seem just out of place, shifted into something unrecognizable. At first, he questions others, searching for confirmation that these changes are real. When the answers don’t come, he wrestles with doubt, wondering if he is losing his grip on reality. Eventually, he quiets the noise of uncertainty and turns to his canvas. From this unsettling tension, Heatwole created this award-winning work of art.
It also marked the beginning of a bold new series titled In-Sana Tea, a visual exploration of fractured perception and surreal transformation.
