In this piece, I depict an open box resting on the shore of a river, winding through a rich, green landscape filled with trees and plant life. From the box, smoke and thin colored disks—meant to represent reflective portals as well as dust particles—emerge, floating into the surrounding environment. The smoke itself begins to transform, weaving into what could be perceived as the very fabric of reality, symbolizing the interplay between the physical world and unseen forces. The box, to me, represents both containment and revelation, embodying the structures we impose on life and the mysteries waiting to be unlocked.
The disks drifting into the landscape reflect the breaking of boundaries, inviting viewers to explore beyond the conventional, while the smoke’s transformation hints at the deeper energies shaping existence. Through this work, I aim to explore the dual nature of the box as both a protective force and a gateway to new possibilities. This piece is part of my ongoing series, where I explore the mystery of the box—sometimes shown as a solitary object in a landscape, and other times as a vessel for dynamic forces spiraling or exploding outward, unleashing new potential.
