- Signature: In the watercolor phase I sign using one of three signatures: "dam, davidAmacLam, David A MacLam," and add "LTC" with a fictitious date from 1987 - 2103...more about that later. Once a piece is sold the back is signed with a paint pen and additional information is added.

Layer upon layer, each city is built upon the past. In this example the denizens can emerge while bypassing the present and going into a future reality sometime beyond. "Under-city Systems" was designed with shifting figure-ground relationships.
