A deer skull with antlers found in the wood. Flipped upside down the horns appeared as legs. Next, I imagined how the form changes and how the dead give to the living, it is huge. I imagined that the skull became reanimated and grew electronic circuits linked to the imbedded DNA and became a vast and gargantuan entity. The antler tips became plugins connected to the larger life. How does life keep scaling up? In our reductionist thinking and examination of life through modern science, we easily study and perceive smaller life. As for larger life, we are clueless but most everyone senses that there is something there, but without the science we are left with the musings of religion, superstition and conjecture. This painting explores another possibility.
