Images I have captured in my mind or with a camera during years of open road cycling find their way to my paintings. From behind the handlebars of my bike I am often impressed with expansive horizons, the movement of weather, and the open vistas ahead.
Moving my studio to Boulder, Colorado has reconnected me to our beautiful landscapes. Mountain vistas, dynamic skies and picturesque rural settings are highlighted in my acrylic paintings and prints.
My background in architecture is evident in my affection for straight lines and detailed brush strokes. Profiles of classic architecture are often the focal point of images captured while cycling across Western Europe.
Prior to focusing on studio art I worked professionally as a commissioned muralist in New Mexico, the Vail Valley and Metro Denver. My mixed media work has been featured in several publications including Good Housekeeping Magazine, the Albuquerque Journal and the NM Lifestyle Magazine. The New Mexico Holiday Show recognized my work as “Best in Show” for three consecutive years. A collaborative piece was featured on the cover of Aspen Magazine.
