Wings by Dasha Pears Image: Is this a "real" angel, who is part of a parallel invisible world watching the people in the city, living their busy lives, being absorbed by their everyday worries and troubles, not even noticing anything around them? Or is it an actual young woman, who imagines herself to be an angel? Whatever you choose the answer to be, the truth is that this being looks down with compassion and love, knowing that the sun will always rise tomorrow, no matter what.

I was 7 months pregnant with my younger daughter when I was shooting this image. To take it I had to hire a roof stalker in St. Petersburg, who took my team to one of the most beautiful roofs in the city. My model is still terribly afraid of heights up to this day. This shoot was a personal challenge for both of us, which we managed to overcome courageously.
