Dasha Pears is a contemporary fine art photographer known for her surreal, minimalist compositions that explore identity, perception, and the quiet tension between inner and outer worlds. Working with carefully constructed scenes and symbolic elements, her images invite viewers into a space of reflection—where meaning is not given, but discovered. Her limited edition works are collected internationally and often resonate with those drawn to subtle beauty, mystery, and psychological depth.

Statement

My work explores the space between what is seen and what is felt. I create constructed photographic scenes where familiar elements become slightly displaced—faces are hidden, scale is uncertain, context is reduced.

This absence is intentional. When less is shown, more is projected. The viewer is not guided to a single meaning, but invited to meet the image halfway.

Through this approach, my work reflects the reality of the inner world—what is present in the psyche, yet remains unseen. I refer to this as psychorealism: a way of making the intangible tangible. Emotional states take on form, becoming something one can observe, rather than only experience.

I’m interested in quiet psychological tension, in the moment where something almost makes sense—but doesn’t fully resolve. That space, for me, is where reflection begins. It is also where difficult emotions can soften—where they may become a little easier to accept and live with.

My works are not only images, but spaces. They can function as windows or doorways—places to step into, even briefly. For some, they become a kind of inner architecture: environments where one can feel safe, grounded, and in control, especially in moments when life feels uncertain.
