Working on this piece, I was listening to Paul McCartney singing “Let ‘Em In” & was reminded on one level of family holidays & family & friends arriving & on another level of the the number of immigrants fleeing war, criminal gangs, abject poverty, war & the devastation of war who are metaphorically knocking on the doors of the United States & European countries & the broader genetically sense that we are all cousins.
- Subject Matter: Someone’s knocking at the door...ringing the bell, let them in. Relatives. We’re all cousins.
