This is a visual interpretation of the Christian canticle "Te Deum Laudamus" - this title translated from Latin into English is, "We Praise You O God". It is one of the original hymns of praise, thought to have been written in the 4th century AD. As a part of the liturgy in the Mass, the Te Deum has been set to music by many famous composers throughout history.
This painting is not intended as an illustration of any specific quoted text from the poem, though viewers familiar with the verses may find congruence with the painting in some passages. Rather, this work is intended as a response to the overall theme of praise to God.
