This is a collaged artwork made from cut monoprint with underdrawing. The 16 tiles that make the background are taken from previously drawn squares in a larger print. They were cut apart to be reassembled into a uniform size. The overlaid partial grid pattern was originally used as a mask during the monoprint stage and reattached to make a new dynamic composition, giving additional space, light, and contrast to the piece.
