Residing in Oklahoma for over four decades, Dana draws inspiration from the rich cultural history of the state's diverse peoples. Her fascination with western art traces back to her grandfather, a Texan cowboy, and her 3 times great grandmother whose was a Cherokee. Despite the loss of her Cherokee ancestry, Dana finds solace in depicting Native American themes, endeavoring to preserve and share the depth of their heritage through her artistic narratives.

Dana currently resides by the shores of Grand Lake in Northeast Oklahoma, drawing endless inspiration from the picturesque landscapes and vibrant local culture. Her latest artistic works manifest this deep-rooted affection, with her paintings portraying the essence of the lake and its surrounding vistas.

Dana's artistic success has earned her recognition as a Signature member of esteemed organizations like American Women Artists and Women Artists of the West. Additionally, she holds Associate membership in prominent societies such as the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society and American Plains Artists.

Dana's work has been included numerous national exhibitions, earning her awards such as the prestigious John Steven Jones purchase award at the 2021 Bosque Art Classic in Clifton, Texas. Her work has garnered many honors, including Best in Show, Best Narrative, Best Figurative, and Artist's Choice.

Her artwork has been featured in esteemed publications like Art of the West Magazine, Southwest Art, Western Art Collector, and Western Art and Architecture.
