This is the original pastel on art board painting of legendary singer/songwriter Willie Nelson with his beloved and well used Martin M-20 classical guitar. The original is 20x24" unframed and 27x31 in it's frame. Like many of Dan's musician paintings, this work incorporates sonic wave forms in the background, inspired by Nelson's "Blue Eye's Crying in the Rain" which played in the studio during it's creation. His Martin shows the extensive wear from decades of playing and is an accurate representation of the scope of the damage the instrument has endured. The work has been exhibited multiple times, first at the YMCA one man "Wavescapes" exhibit in 2015 and more recently at the Ichin Garden Restaurant show of Dan's work in 2023. COA included with acquisition.
This original pastel on paper of the legendary Willie Nelson with his beloved and battered Martin M-20 guitar "Trigger" he bought new in 1969 (though the instrument was made in 1968) in Nashville, Tennessee. The instrument has been used ever since for virtually every song he's written since and performed on in every live performance. It shows it's age and even when Willie has taken it in for adjustments and necessary repairs he's insisted that the hole worn in it's soundboard be left alone. It's part of it's history and sonic character.
