HENRY VON WARTENBERG Born in MAR DEL PLATA EN 1967.

He grew up between the city and the countryside. As a young man, he played polo and studied veterinary medicine in Tandil, Buenos Aires province. At the same time, he began to develop as a photographer. Without finishing college, he moved to France to play in low-handicap tournaments. Between 1989 and 1990, he traveled around Europe and North Africa with a camera, capturing characters and places. Back in Buenos Aires in 1991, he joined the photography department at Editorial ATLÁNTIDA, where he worked in the graphic arts, TELECLIC, SOMOS, and GENTE categories. In 1993, he joined the staff of Gente en Producciones Specials, covering various topics in Argentina and abroad: from conflicts in Nicaragua, the Middle East, and Ecuador-Peru to the change of flag in Hong Kong and the France '98 World Cup. In 1996, he won the Pleiades award for best photo of the year with "Piranhas," taken at the Ironman in Kona, Hawaii.
