I enjoy visiting historic Rock Ledge Ranch in Colorado where docents volunteer their time to present the history of the early settlers. “Indigo” was inspired by one of these volunteers. Although just a young girl, there was an
understanding of history and a purpose in her movements that overflowed with beauty and grace. I chose to capture her in this quiet moment keeping both the composition and color scheme simple to echo the simplicity of pioneer life.
