I'll be leading an introduction to portrait painting in oil at the Palos Verdes Art Center this spring.
Get introduced to developing a head for portraits on paper and canvas while using charcoal and a limited, simplified color palette. Learn basic anatomical structure of the neck and head, facial planes, and some “go to” points of the head. We will also quickly cover the basics of oil painting for those who are absolute beginners. This class should allow the student to approach a live painting session with a live sitter with more confidence.
