Maria Costa is a local, Florida artist, who mainly paints with acrylics, though some of her work also includes mixed media such as texture mediums, India ink, collage, pencil, and spray paint.

Originally, Maria was primarily interested in realism; however, as she has embraced the Intuitive style of painting, she has developed a love for abstract realism and non-objective abstract art. She likes Intuitive painting because it allows the artist the freedom to relax expectations, experiment with paint & tools, and to be surprised by the final creation.

Maria’s paintings are exhibited in various Pinellas County businesses, churches, and art galleries. Her pieces have found permanent homes in private collections across the United States, and internationally.

Maria is a juried member of The Creative Artists Guild, and a member of PAVA, and the Dunedin Fine Arts Center.
