I don’t mind black and white. But my heart speaks from my paintings with colors and shapes! I love to explore with different mediums and tools enjoying the feel of the paint and just making marks.
When I began my midlife artistic journey, a friend invited me to a watercolor painting class at a local college, and I haven’t stopped painting since. All my teachers would say to be loose especially in the backgrounds in my application leading me to my abstract love.
When it comes to abstracts, sometimes it’s better for me to have no plan. My motto: throw the painting on the canvas and see what happens and something exciting will appear. After many layers, I will place fine details but still use my imagination and intuition for the pleasing final results.
I’ve been so fortunate and happy to have had my paintings exhibited in a few galleries- Broadway Gallery in Longview, WA, Conroe Art League Gallery in Conroe, TX, and Tarpon Art Guild in Tarpon Springs, FL.
I am now teaching Fine Silver Clay (precious metal clay) class and Multimedia Class at The Funk in Tarpon Springs.
