JD Hecht is a Nashville-based mixed media artist blending acrylic, quilling, and dimensional design to explore identity, resilience, and storytelling.
MessageJD Hecht is a Nashville-based mixed media artist and the founder of Creatively Cutz. With over a decade of experience in graphic and content design for corporate conventions, trade shows, and exhibits, his work is rooted in the balance between structure and creative exploration.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, JD discovered a new artistic direction that transformed his creative practice. What began with layered shadow boxes evolved into “dimensional canvases”—multi-layered works that combine depth, texture, and storytelling. His art has since expanded to include acrylic painting, quilling, and abstract compositions, blending precision with fluid, expressive movement.
JD’s work is driven by the belief that “Life is the Breath Given to Art.” Each piece reflects a journey of transformation, resilience, and emotional depth, inviting viewers to connect with the layers both seen and felt. Through his work, he aims to create immersive visual experiences that resonate on a personal level while celebrating creativity, individuality, and healing.

Statement
As the artist and founder of creatively cutz studio—where art becomes experience—my work is guided by the belief that “Life is the Breath Given to Art.” I transform life’s raw moments into dimensional stories through abstract acrylic paintings, painted glass, and Studio B.O.X.es that layer depth, texture, and emotion without relying on pre-set designs.
The Forge process invites collaboration: customers select from the Forge Library for the focal design and Forge Foundations for the background, then we build their custom B.O.X. together. Raw Canvas offers hands-on pour painting techniques in person—clothed or clothing-optional—for pure, unfiltered creation. Studio Works display my independent explorations: vibrant abstracts on canvas, luminous painted glass, and original Studio B.O.X.es that stand apart from Forge customs.
Each piece preserves human connection, memory, and transformation—inviting you to engage deeply with art that breathes.
