Howard Bond (b. 1931) is a contemporary American photographer known for his picturesque landscapes and striking architectural compositions that border on the abstract. He received a BFA from Bowling Green State University in 1953 and a Master’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1961. Once a student of Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and Brett Weston, Bond continues the style of straight photography espoused by the Group f/64, using black and white film and large-format view cameras. His work is found in the collections of numerous museums including the National Gallery of Art, Washington; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris.
