Courtney Nichelle Coble

Multidisciplinary artist working in epoxy resin sculpture, exploring identity, endurance, and internal transformation through restrained form.
MessageBiography
Courtney Nichelle Coble is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in epoxy resin sculpture. Her practice investigates identity as a lived, internal structure shaped by endurance, boundary, and transformation.
Through sculptural portraiture, Coble examines what is held rather than expressed—psychological pressure, restraint, and the quiet negotiations that define presence. Her works resist immediate interpretation, inviting sustained engagement and slow revelation through material tension and form.
Her ongoing body of work, Mind·Full·Ness®, positions sculpture as a site of contemplation—where identity is not performed, but negotiated, protected, and continuously evolving.
Coble lives and works in the United States.
Statement
My work functions as a site of sustained attention rather than immediate interpretation. Through compact sculptural forms, I explore how identity is shaped internally—through pressure, boundary, and time.
Rather than depicting expression outwardly, I focus on what is held: endurance, restraint, and the quiet negotiations that define presence. Materials are layered to contain tension without resolution, allowing meaning to emerge gradually.
The sculptures invite viewers to slow down, engage closely, and encounter identity as something lived, protected, and continually evolving.
