Some of my favorite small paintings from a workshop called "A Personal Landscape", by well known Boulder artist/art educator, Amy Metier, at Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ballycastle, Ireland - County Mayo. Amy immersed us in the beauty and mystery of Ireland through abstract painting, and helped us deepen our painting practice both inwardly in terms of inner consciousness and expression and outwardly in the formal qualities of the work itself. Irish poetry, the local landscape, along with daily exercises and challenges, expanded our approaches and moved us towards personal vision.
