The ocean draws me to Coronado Island, a place of personal significance, as I honeymooned with my husband at the historic Hotel Del in 1987. My art practice centers around vintage textiles and Victorian history, which often inform my wearable art and art quilts. For this challenge, I honor the island's oceanfront that has attracted visitors for generations. Despite modern challenges like traffic and dumping of raw sewage, the white-capped waves and breathtaking sunsets remind us to respect nature and care for our beloved beaches.
