The Coronado Welcome Sign is located at the Bridge entrance to the island.
The design was formally approved by the City Council in 1997. The sign bears the name, "Coronado Island" with a crown above it. It is cast in concrete with an off-white color. The letters and the crown have an antique bronze metal finish.
The sign designer was a Coronado resident, John Setter. John attended the Art Center Collee of Design in Pasadenaand served on the Design Review Board in Coronado.
