Arpillera salon Stitch n Bitch (Traffic) in the Textile Factory downtown LA January 18, 2019 where participants create a Cunt Quilt Arpillera Americanx to end human trafficking after a discussion lead by Cherise Charleswell, director of Journey Out an organization that empowers trafficking survivors with life saving resources.
Artist Coralina Rodriguez Meyer & Tomorrow Girl Troop hosted a dozen intersectional feminists from California in a fashion manufacturing center called the Textile Factory on a vacant street in downtown LA. A handful of artists, activists, mothers, investors, public relations experts and community engagement specialists from the banking sector gathered to learn about local and national human trafficking justice work. After the conversation, participants sewed worn out women's underwear (sent through the US postal service for the Underwear Audit) onto a Queen sized bedsheet to use as a Sanctuary City protest flag in anticipation of the 2019 Women's March.
