"WHO ARE THE COOPRIDERS?"
FIRST RULE: "Buy only what you like"
We surely did. The Cooprider Family Collection has more than 300 of the works displayed here. Patti and I almost enjoyed 62 married years together on February 14th, 2021. We were both addicted to the world of art and bought what we liked. In 2018 both of us began treatment for the big "C" word. On January 4, 2021, Patti's "C" took her to a place where she no longer is in the realm of pain. She too was an artist who created something new every day!
Remember the saying "When you see the light at the end of the tunnel, you hope it isn't another train coming at you"? Our train is loaded with artwork speeding to its ultimate end, and each work of art wants a home before that certain, but still unknown zero hour.

WHO ARE WE?
Patti and I, both art aficionados, were married in Montana on Valentine's Day 1959. In 1965 we moved to Europe where Patti became an art history major grad of U of MD, exposing us to museums from the Prado in Madrid to the Pushkin in Moscow and art fairs from Basel to the FIAC in Paris. Arnold Herstand helped us choose lots of quality art. Visting artists like Henry Moore, Marc Chagall, Hundertwasser and Theo Tobiasse at their homes was memorable for both of us.
Our only boy of 7 children became permanently disabled in 1989 in Germany. We had to sell most of our major works, Picasso drawings (3), Miro Gouache, Lipschitz bronze sculpture, large Leger, Chagall oil, Dali erotic double sided drawing, and more: Calder, Derain, Hundertwasser, Juan Gris. etc. All gone. We still have a nice oil by Tobiasse, and one of the best canvases that Trampedach did, purchased at the FIAC in Paris 1982. And, from the United Kingdom, we have art by sculptors Graham Ibbeson and Dean Barrett.
But hopelessly art-addicted, we continued to buy what we liked. Now at age 88 and Patti was 80, with uncertain longevity, our family must find new owners, or our kids will have a garage sale. Kyle, our only boy, passed away 11 November 2023. Himself a lifelong artist, like his mother Patti, left us wonderful creations. We hope to share both Kyle's and many more of Patti's over 500 abstract expressionist artworks here soon.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE WHEN YOU EXPLORE "PORTFOLIO":
Nearly half the Collection is by the internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (Voh-chee 1920-1985). Coop has been the official volunteer Diego Voci Historian since 1974, now DV Historian Emeritus. With the help of Stephen Max, Helga Voci, and more family members, i.e. Chris Voci (grand-nephew to Diego) we had the dream that someday a generous benefactor would sponsor a major museum Diego exhibition. We've searched the world for his artworks since 2010 and have archived hundreds of DIEGO collectors, where at least four to five dozen of the artworks are museum worthy. Our collection has at least 2 dozen museum-worthy paintings by Diego, whose versatility and short life may have impacted the obscurity that followed his death (Enter "Diego" above).
The other half of Cooprider Family Collection includes more renown artists: Salvador Dali, Kurt Trampedach, Theo Tobiasse, Jeffery Laudenslager, Valeska Soares, Manny Farber, Martin Bradley; plus, many who deserve to be prominently known such as California artists Sean Sullivan, Becky Guttin, Lynn Schuette, Sandra Chanis, Norman Lundin, Shauna Peck, Gail Roberts, Tony Peters, Anne Mudge, Barry Ebner, Brandon Paris and many more.
When you like an artwork, make an offer. They all need a good home. Enjoy our collection!
