When painting skies, I often make quick small studies on scraps of linen or canvas to see how the colors resolve once dry (linen is very dark when wet, and acrylic color is slightly darker once it dries). Many in this collection are mounted on blocks of wood, making them free-standing - perfect as little shelf paintings.
