The circle paintings were created to be their own independent objects. They are only what they are physically, not more and not less. They belong to no one but themselves and live for themselves but are open to interpretation by each self who sees them.

To achieve a sense of gravity in my work, I use texture and intentionally limit my palette. For tension, I use the opposing shapes of a circle of circles within a square. Using basic shapes also gives a sense of universality and connection to the inner self.
