I was born and raised in Georgia. Throughout my life I have gravitated toward
the arts. My earliest exposure came during a 6th grade class. This love of art
developed during each following art class. Learning about Monet, Seurat and
Gauguin peaked my interest and desire to learn more about different style of
visual art. I have enjoyed a life full of adventure, love and visual expression. My
art is true to who I am; a Black woman, mother, bookworm, and pupil of the
arts. I am influenced by Klimt, Magritte, Alma Thomas, Kahlo, Thornton Dial and
Dali. My expressions are meant to spark conversations of life, love, politics and
growth.
I live and work in the Atlanta area.
Statement
As a creative, I don’t like to be confined to one medium or style of art. I love to
explore and learn a variety of styles. When I’m creating art I feel centered and
at peace, like time doesn’t exist. It’s a form of therapy for me. My inspirations
arrive from various sources and is filtered through my experiences as a black
woman. I don’t expect everyone to like my work, but I would like to spark
conversations. I feel the universe has given me a gift and I want to share that
with as many people as I can.
