Statement
I am a glass, visual, and mixed media artist whose creative practice includes fine art, functional art, decor, and collaborative commercial projects. I decided to work with glass twenty years ago after trying other materials because it allows me to see through its physical essence and perceive what lies beyond its texture, transparency, and color. For me, this is its soul! I love to utilize strong and bright colors and in addition to glass, I often incorporate metals, stones, wood, yarn, organic matter, and other materials into my art. Art has always been an important part of my life. All my pieces are, in their own way, reflections of my inner world. There is nothing perfect in my work because perfection is not what I seek. Instead, I try to provoke beauty in the imperfect together with a definite result. Through the exploration of contrast in my work, I discover the magnificence that captivates me of transparency vs color, high durable to aging vs fragile, hot work vs cold work, hardness vs malleable quality. Imperfection is part of the work done by hand, it is part of the path of my life and the history of my art.
