The Geometric Assemblage Series is comprised of deceptively simple forms wrapped in spun newspaper. Quilt #3 is one of multiple pieces that were designed as a conversation with the quilters of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. Their quilts, made of overworn fabric strips and shreds of discarded cloths, revealed the beauty in cast offs. Newspaper, my preferred medium, is a similarly expendable material—critical today, forgotten tomorrow. Patchwork #3 is made with “The Courrier International”.
