The City of Berkeley’s Public Art Collection enhances and enlivens its civic buildings, parks, streetscapes, and other public spaces. Since its inception in 1967, the Civic Arts Public Art Program has acquired approximately 50 permanent outdoor artworks, including sculptures, integrated design elements, mosaics, tile pieces, and painted murals. In addition, the Civic Arts Collection includes more than 50 small, portable artworks—mostly framed pieces such as drawings, etchings, paintings, textiles, and prints—displayed throughout City buildings.
