Fantastic Food Garden

The Hilltop Arts Collective selected the theme, The Fantastic Food Garden, to encourage healthy eating, community gardening, and urban homesteading. The Fantastic Food Garden Mural includes imagery of flowers, fruits, vegetables, honeybees and monarch butterflies. The leaf-shaped clouds are symbolic of the water that evaporates from leaves, forms rain clouds, falls in the form of raindrops, nourishes our soil, and grows our food. The massive wall, which is 80 feet long and 20 feet high, included an existing 8’ x 24’ mural (The Children’s Mural) in the top left corner. The Children’s Mural had been designed by Aaron Grover and painted by resident artists, so it was important that the full mural incorporated and complemented Grover’s mural, which was achieved seamlessly by Poling.
