Mark Datodi is an artist well known for his public artworks and interest in the urban environment. New Start is a work that combines the representational traditions of architecture and photography. The balsa wood construction, reminiscent of architectural model making, is both floor plan and maze.

‘New Start’ combines the representational traditions of architecture and photography, juxtaposing the sculptural form and the printed image. The balsa wood construction, reminiscent of architectural model making, is both floor plan and maze. The detailed view of rooftops captures the new vistas of the rapidly developing urban environment.
