I have a preservation is from the series, What’s in store, a body of work that revolves around the ordinary, everyday ritual of grocery shopping. Lewi’s prints capture their observations of misplaced items on supermarket shelves. An avid collector and follower of the phenomenon of Coles Little Shop, Lewi started taking photos of impromptu arrangements they came across while shopping. Lewi is interested in our patterns of navigating shop aisles; in particular, what prompts us to pick up an item and then place it back somewhere else? The fluid, gestural quality of Lewi’s mark-marking transforms these images of banal, inexplicable human decisions into something playful and intrinsically funny.
