This painting is about a small vacation cabin community. Many of the properties had been passed down through the generations and held the long time history of the families within their rustic walls. Suddenly the peacefulness was disrupted as a new neighbour tore down a cabin on the lot they had purchased and constructed a massive building which from their perspective was, "the most superior cabin on the lake". The people that had been vacationing for generations felt that the new home was nothing but a fancy shell, lacking the stories and history of their cozy summer homes.
They were all there for the same reason, to get away from the rat race and relax in nature.
Some had campfires, others had hot tubs, some caught lake trout and roasted marshmallows others ate caviar and sipped champagne.
