Christine Davis
ALBERT PARK, SA
Adelaide based artist working in oils, watercolor and printmaking.
MessageChristine began her art career by participating in mixed media and drawing classes at the Victorian Artist Society in Melbourne. During this time, she created many watercolor paintings and several drawings which were shown in exhibitions. She enrolled for the diploma of Visual Arts at Victoria University where she was introduced to painting in oils. Art was a constant and personal therapy for her as she struggled with adjusting to moving from a country town in Queensland to the large busy city of Melbourne. She used art as a form of therapy and created several works on adjusting to a new living environment. Christine and her family moved to Adelaide where she transferred her art study to the Adelaide College of the Arts and completed the diploma and is considering furthering her study. She had her first exhibition in Adelaide through the SALA festival and exhibited 18 artworks at the Stationmasters Gallery, Strathalbyn. Christine is developing her own unique style of fine art using oils, watercolour, pencils and pastels and recently purchased a printing press so will be adding prints to her work. Christine's art is her way of revealing the beauty around us. ‘Your artwork has made me think about landscapes differently’ quote from the viewer.
